10 Things I Believe

Given the craziness going on in the world today, I've decided that it'd be a good idea to make a list of some of my core values and principles. This way, I can remove any doubt as to where I stand on some of the issues of the day...

I believe...

1. That God is the Creator of man, his only true judge and the originator of all his rights and freedoms. I also believe that Jesus is my Lord and Savior, and if this offends anyone... TOUGH! I would much rather offend you than Him.

2. That everyone (regardless of race, color, gender or religion) is entitled to the exact same rights and liberties in America, provided they uphold and follow our laws.

3. That all life is precious, and should only be taken in self-defense, the defense of others or in exchange for maliciously murdering others.

4. That there is no God-given "right" to murder a child. Everyone has the right to do whatever they want with their own body, without government regulation or interference, and we all have the right to our own survival. But, these rights include the child's as well.

5. That our Constitution was written, not as a means of defining our rights or restricting them, but as a way to limit and restrict the government's power. I also feel that our elected officials have seriously overstepped their Constitutional authority for way too long, and need to return to the original intent of the document.

6. That all nations on the Earth are entitled to their own sovereignty, laws and rights within their borders and territories. Americans traveling abroad should follow the laws of the nations they enter. Just as those coming here should follow ours.

7. That being wealthy, famous and/or powerful should be considered a privilege and a reflection of your hard work and driving spirit. These are signs of personal success and the American Dream in action to be celebrated, not loathed and spit upon. Nor should they be used in an attempt to block the success of others and to keep certain groups down.

8.  That a person's money and property (if obtained legally through work or inheritance) is their own to use as they see fit. No one else (the government included) should be able to make a claim on or against it. No one else should have the authority or right to tell them how, where or on what to spend it.  If you didn't earn it, it's not yours.

9. Welfare should only be  temporary for anyone not elderly or permanently disabled. The benefits should only cover the essentials for life, and require mandatory drug testing, as well as proof of either ongoing vocational training or legitimate job searching.

10.  That every citizen is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions, and has the right to peacefully express them, without interference or interfering with another's right to do the same. Disagreeing with someone, doesn't automatically make you a racist, sexist or any kind of a "phobe". The right to disagree and dissent is one of our most fundamental and important rights in America.

There are more (of course), and I will most likely cover them in other posts. However, these 10 are the ones I feel everyone should understand about me right away.

Just remember... We are all entitled to our own beliefs and opinions, but not our own facts.

The New Women's Suffrage

I'm not trying to be insensitive, ignorant or sexist here (I really am not) but, the past few days, I've been wondering about something...

With the campaign of Hillary Clinton, and the election of Donald Trump, there has been a lot of talk about women's suffrage, and women's rights. As with all other Progressive agenda issues, it all sounds so noble and agreeable on the surface. (I mean, who honestly doesn't want women to have equal pay for equal work, and the same rights as anyone else?) Just don't dig any deeper, or the ugly truth might begin to show...

I was always raised by my mother to treat women with a certain reverence and respect. (I'm one of the only men I know, my age or younger, who still opens the car door for my wife, and serves her first at meals.) Some call this "Southern Hospitality", or being a gentleman, I call it common decency and respect. To me, there never has been a battle of the sexes.

However, with the rise of the Modern Progressive Movement, I began hearing about things like the "glass ceiling" and the "war on women". It was frequently pointed out to me that women seldom (if ever) hold high ranking positions of power, and tend to make anywhere from 20% to as much as 40% less than men (depending on which statistic you choose at the time). I've been told that their healthcare is higher, and there are actually laws on the books to regulate their own bodies.

As a rational, caring human being, all of this sounded horrible and wrong to me. (Seriously, who would want their mother, sister, daughter or wife to go through all of that?)

But, as I started looking some of these things up (the curse of a curious mind... research!), I began to find that most of what I was hearing is simply untrue and deliberately skewed, as is usually the case with Liberal ideals.

Women today are CEOs, doctors and lawyers in much greater numbers than ever before. In fact, there are far more female professionals now in America, than just about any other nation. Aside from the President and Vice-president positions, women have held every powerful office men have held (there are currently 104 women in Congress). And, studies have recently found the reason women are typically passed over for promotions more than their male counterparts, is that they tend to be less aggressive in pursuing these positions.

That last part also applies to the pay scale as well. Women tend to be less aggressive at asking for raises in salary, and so get overlooked in certain industries. Also, studies have found that men frequently go for the higher paying, more physically demanding and dangerous jobs more than women. Although, throughout my entire adult life, I don't believe I've ever worked for a company that paid women less than men for the same job. (Nor do I believe I personally know anyone else who has.) The glass ceiling may be real, but it seems to be far less worse than it's being made out to be.

On the healthcare front... it is true, at least in part, that women pay more for insurance. But, fair or not, this is because on average, they tend to use it far more often and longer. From the studies I've found, women go to the doctor at least six times more often than men, and they typically live an average of twenty years longer. Add this to the fact that they have regular tests such as mammograms and pap smears (along with prenatal and maternity costs for pregnancy), and you can start to see why the price would be higher for them.

Which brings us to the heart of the real reason behind the new feminist movement... the "laws regulating a woman's body". Folks, don't be fooled here. It all really boils down to this one phrase, and even that is an obvious codeword for "abortion".

I looked everywhere, and try as I might, I could only find three laws that would remotely count as "regulating a woman's body" as the Liberals call it... The first is the statute outlawing marriage and/or sex with minors. (I sincerely doubt even the Liberals are openly boycotting this one.) The next is the law against prostitution, which technically would be regulating both a man's and a woman's body since both sexes can sell or purchase sex illegally. And the final one is over the regulation an control of abortion. So, either the Progressives want to sleep with underaged girls, whore themselves out, or murder babies. And given their "pro-choice" demonstrations and rallies, I'm guessing it's the third option.

The fatal flaw in their logic is in the simple definitions...

Murder is defined as "the unlawful taking of a human life".

Fetus is defined as "the early stages of development in a mammal, particularly a human being two months after conception."

It would be easy to point out the word "unlawful" in the first definition. However, it didn't really become "lawful" until 1972 with "Roe vs. Wade". And required legally dehumanizing the offspring. Which is why most pro-choice Liberals today can't call it an unborn baby. That would put a human face on what they're doing, and expose just how monstrous and barbaric abortions really are. There's no emotional attachment to something called a fetus. But, when you refer to it as a baby, it actually becomes human in the hearts and minds of most people. That's why, when shown a sonogram, most women considering abortion back out of it... it humanized the child for them, and made them actually see what they were considering killing.

One more thing... Liberals talk about this issue as "a woman's right to choose what to do with her own body". First, what about the baby's right to choose to live? Secondly, all rights come from God, and the last I checked, murdering babies wasn't a God-given right. (In fact, it's kind of the opposite.)

So, what have we learned today? The new "Women's Suffrage" and feminist movements are misguided attempts at expanding abortion. And abortion is murder, despite what the Supreme Court may claim.

Liberal Lies

Okay, so I'm kind of fired up tonight, on a few issues I'm sick to death of dealing with on a daily basis. Not surprisingly, these issues stem from flat out Liberal lies and deliberate misdirections.

First of all... NO ONE (and I mean NO ONE) is planning on just yanking away Obamacare (or the ACA, if you prefer) without replacing it with something else. That's just stupid. Despite all the B.S. and rhetoric, the truth is nobody wants grandma to die. The Conservatives just want it to be sustainable and truly all inclusive. There's no way to cover all the poor people, if the middle class and wealthy can't afford to cover themselves as well, and that will only happen if you allow Insurance companies to compete across state lines, and stop making nuns pay for birth control, while single 50 year old men pay for mammograms.

Which brings me to my next topic... defunding Planned Parenthood. This is not an attack on women's health, or women in general. Planned Parenthood isn't the only institution out there providing services for women (not even close). And, though they claim that abortions only make up about 3% of their business, recent audits and the infamous undercover investigations found the number is actually much higher. They were caught actively seeking to violate the law on numerous occasions, while using our tax dollars to do it, and yet the Liberals want us to ignore that fact.

By the way, being "pro-life" isn't an attack on women or their rights either. Everyone, male or female, has the right to do whatever they want with their own body (as long as it doesn't involve anyone else's body or rights to do the same). However, there is no God-given right to stop an innocent beating heart, or functioning brain. That's murder, no matter what you may tell yourself to try and justify the act. (But, that's between you and God, and there won't be any wiggle room when that conversation goes down.)

Third, I am sick to death of the celebrity and upper middle class "righteous indignation" over the treatment of the poor and minorities. Just stop it already. You're not fooling anyone, when you're standing at a podium, wearing Prada and Armani, and talking about "social justice", the evil rich, or your latest charity/cause. I'm glad some of you use a very small portion of your own wealth to "help", but let's get real for a moment... You're not fooling anyone. We can all see through you. The majority of these celebrities (even the ones claiming to want to be anonymous) are only taking up these causes because it's fashionable and keeps them in the public eye. It makes them feel superior to call attention to some conflict or problem either no one else knows about, or hasn't been able to solve. There's nothing noble about doing charitable works just so you can feel better about yourself, or pat yourself on the back. (Especially, when you overinflate the significance or importance of the cause, like climate change.)

Fourth, (I've tackled this one quite a bit, but it keeps coming up.) Race-baiters and racists don't give a damn about all the drama we see them getting involved with on the news. It's simple a means to stay relevant and in control. Think about it this way, if there wasn't a "racial divide" in this country right now, how would men like Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson make their living? Yes, both men are Reverends, but I promise you, they wouldn't have nearly as much money or influence, if there wasn't so much racial tension out there. Men like this (and throw Congressman John Lewis into this mix) may not always start the problems we're facing nowadays, but no one can honestly claim they don't stir it up and keep it going long after it should've died down.

I'm just wondering why no one has ever thought to publicly ask why every time the African-American community finds itself getting hit with rioting or poverty, these men get richer? Why does no one else seem to notice that they're profiting and feeding off the misery and suffering of their own race (the very people they claim they're trying to help)?

But, then again, they're not the first or only ones to do this. The so-called "Progressive Left" has been doing it since the days of Jim Crow and the "Great Society". Democrats like Lyndon Johnson learned that, instead of lynchings and ruling through fear and oppression, if you make the minorities into victims and then hand out freebies like food stamps (rather than promoting education and employment in their communities), they keep you in power for generations. (Who wouldn't prefer having everything handed to you, rather than having to struggle for it?) And, when they finally begin to see that their communities are crumbling and their kids aren't getting a proper education, all you have to do is point out that your opponents are "holding them down" and won't let then succeed. Point to the wealthy and successful, and claim that they got that way by keeping the poor and minorities in poverty (while conveniently leaving out any hard work or education they had to acquire to get there themselves).

Anyway, the point of this entire post, is that I'm fed up with the victimization of the average citizen (white, black or other), by the same ideology that claims to be so all-inclusive and "tolerant". I'm tired of watching people fall for the same old B.S. bait-and-switch tactics of having the Liberal elite pretend to care so much for the underprivileged, while holding them there with their freebies and victimization. If you truly care about your fellow man, help him to better himself and get the skills he needs to support his family.

The old proverb "Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Teach him to fish, and he'll eat forever." still rings truer now than ever.
